New work goes up on Instagram first.
Jugs
Thrown jugs for the table. Full round bodies, pulled handles and pinched spouts, finished in ash, celadon and iron glazes.
Pairs and groups
Jugs made to sit together, in related forms and glazes.
Applied forms
Cups and vessels with domes pressed out from inside and added from outside, so the surface reads as both hollow and raised.
Bowls
Wide shallow bowls. The fluted rim is cut back to raw clay so each tooth carries a thin line of glaze.
Exhibitions

Two-person exhibition, The Upstairs Gallery, Titirangi

About
Pauline McCoy was born in Dunedin into a family of architects. Her father was Ted McCoy, one of the city's best known modernist architects, and that way of seeing shows in her work.
Her pots are designed with a modernist eye for proportion and line, then given surfaces that answer to natural forms. Glazes and textures take their cues from the bush, the coast and the found things of Aotearoa.
She makes functional ware for the table alongside ceramic art, working from studios in Titirangi in West Auckland and Mangawhai on the east coast of Northland.
